Nachdem bereits im letzten Jahr eine unabhängige Preisverleihung für die Spiele des Jahres 2014 abgehalten wurde, findet auch in diesem Jahr eine derartige Veranstaltung statt.
Am 03.12.2015 gewinnen die Spieler, denn bei der Auswahl des Jahres 2015 werden nur die besten Produkte belohnt und ein gesamter Abend der Lieblingsbeschäftigung gewidmet.
Alle nominierten Spiele der Game Awards 2015 sind nun seit Kurzem bekannt.

Auf der eigenen Web-Präsenz der Game Awards sind die offiziellen Teilnehmer der Wahl bekannt gegeben worden, die sich in der ersten Dezemberwoche der Wahl zum besten Spiel des Jahres küren dürfen.
Unterschiedliche Kategorien wurden mit bekannten Namen gefüllt, auch eSports nimmt eine immer größere Bedeutung ein.
